Caught with fake Greek ID

PAPHOS police arrested two men attempting to leave the country late on Tuesday night after they were caught using fake Greek identity cards.

Suspicions were aroused after the two Syrian men, who were on the way to Germany, produced Greek ID cards. Following examinations it was discovered the cards were fake, police said.

After being questioned, the two men admitted they were from Syria and had entered Cyprus via the occupied areas. They were both arrested for forgery and held by police.

Paphos CID is investigating the matter.
