WITH more than 500 marathons being held throughout the world every year, this weekend’s Limassol will try to stand out from the rest.
The Limassol Marathon starts at 8am on Sunday from the Molos area on the seafront.
The race will be held along the coastline on a route almost entirely straight with four main races to choose from: a 5km corporate race, 10km health race, half marathon and the full marathon of 42km.
There is also a 1000-metre race for children and teenagers.
Different fundraising groups and charities will also be taking part, so for those who want to run for a cause it is not too late.
They can register at http://www.limassolmarathon.com/index.php as well as on the facebook page ‘Limassol Marathon Cyprus’.
