Pupils at a Limassol primary school abstained from classes for two hours on Tuesday morning to protest delinquent behavior displayed by a small group of children attending the school.
Charwoman of the parent association, Melina Schini, said authorities should assume their responsibility and protect the rest of the pupils at Limassol’s third primary school, who refused to enter class between 7.45am and 9.45am.
“These reactions are simply the way they express their own abuse, or lack of security, or lack of love, or whatever else they feel,” she said, without providing details.
She said parents demanded measures to be put in place to ensure the safety of the rest of the children and find a way to teach classes smoothly.
Schini said some measures were taken but they did not do the job “resulting in these problems continuing.
“In the classes with these children, teaching is impossible,” she said.
The association warned that it would prevent classes from going ahead in the new school year if problems were not resolved.
