An 81-year-old man from Finland is in critical condition at the Limassol general hospital after he was hit by a car driven by a 61-year-old man while crossing the street.
The accident occurred at around 9am when the 81-year-old was crossing Amathus Avenue, in Limassol.
According to the head of the Limassol traffic police, Emilios Kafas, the 81-year-old was taken to the Limassol general hospital with multiple injuries and is in critical condition.
A breathalyser given to the driver was negative, Kafas said.
It appears, he said, that the driver did not notice the pensioner on time. He added that they were searching for eye-witnesses.
