I am bemused by the apparent slow state of progress in the roadworks designed to improve the connections between the Highway and the road linking to the new port and general Hospital at the west end of Limassol. Now I am aware that the logistics mean not everything can be done at once but every time I go past there seems to be little obvious movement – very few people to be seen let alone doing anything, machinery seemingly standing idle, unmanned, etc. when in other places a project like this would be planned to be carried out in a short as time as is possible. Can somebody from the relevant authorities and the construction company tell us what is happening, and why it is seemingly taking so long and when it will be finished?
But then I forget this is Cyprus, where we have ‘avrio’, like manana – but without the sense of urgency. I incidentally think it was big mistake not putting in the slip-road between the West-bound carriage way of the highway and the southbound carriage-way of the road between the Hospital and new port a lot earlier Like when the new link road was opened.
