A driver caused a power cut in Aradippou on Wednesday when he crashed into an electricity pole, a police report said.
According to the report, under circumstances which are being investigated the 21-year-old who was driving the car with his 26-year-old brother lost control over the vehicle at around 9pm, veered of the road and crashed into the pole.
The vehicle was badly damaged while the pole was uprooted, resulting in a power cut in the area.
The two men received first aid at Larnaca hospital and were discharged.
Police and firefighters who rushed to the scene cordoned off the area due to sparks caused by the fallen pole until the arrival of employees of the electricity authority who repaired the damage and restored the electricity supply.
