Most bars in Larnaca are within touching distance of each other and more often than not found in the bustling Phinikoudes area or the Laiki Geitonia. However, one hidden away in one of Larnaca’s oldest quarters, and away from the two busiest parts of town, is probably the most underrated night spots.
The seafront road between Phinikoudes and Mackenzie Beach has seen a huge renovation over the last few years which has given the area a far more modern look. A newly renovated walkway runs parallel to the sea and it is on a small side road along this pathway where the Tudor Inn Bar lies.
From the outside, the bar looks like a typical old English cottage and upon entering there is an instant homely vibe with low ceilings, dark red floor, fire places and a variety of antiques adorning the walls.
There is a small outdoor seating area which resembles a quaint back garden which is especially popular at this time of year. But with just a few benches and chairs in a confined space, you may wish to go there a little early to make sure you get a spot.
There is a vast variety of beers and wines to choose from around the world. Its beer list takes up a whole page of the menu and contains all sorts of beers and ales of different colours and strengths. On tap, there are just a handful of beers like Stella Artois, Carlsberg and Keo, but there is a long list of imported bottled beers to choose from.
In terms of service, the staff are very cheerful and keen to offer advice when it comes to selecting one of their vast choices of drink and seem to have good knowledge of the different products. Choosing the right option may prove to be a tough task so do not hesitate to ask.
Food is also served, ranging from Mediterranean dishes to more simple pub food and the establishment also plays host to a number of local bands on a weekly basis.
