A 46-year-old man from Deftera, Nicosia, was arrested by police on Wednesday morning for driving a stolen vehicle, following a high-speed chase in Tseri, during which he crashed into police cars, a police report said.
According to the report, around 1.45am police were tipped off that a car reported stolen was seen moving in the Limassol to Nicosia motorway.
Police went to the area and spotted the vehicle at around 2.05am, instructing the driver to stop.
Instead, he tried to flee.
He was followed by the police patrol cars and he was cut off in Ayios Dhometios, Nicosia, after crashing into a parked car and being surrounded by police cars.
During the chase, the driver violated a series of traffic regulations and crashed into police cars.
The 46-year-old was arrested and detained.
