Three people from Bulgaria were ordered remanded in custody by Larnaca district court on Thursday as suspects for breaking into and stealing from a house in Dromolaxia, Larnaca.
A few days ago it was reported to police that four persons, three men and a woman, visited the house saying they were painters.
After they were allowed into the house in order to start painting, they reportedly stole around €1,000 in cash, three watches and other jewellery worth €6,000.
According to police, on Wednesday the four showed up in Lefkara where they visited various houses seeking painting jobs.
After receiving this information the police station at Kiti issued arrest warrants against the three men, aged 34, 29 and 27, and the woman, 29.
For humanitarian reasons, police did not request that the woman be remanded in custody along with the others, and she was released. She still remains a suspect and could be questioned again at a later date.
