A fire in the Droushia area, Paphos, burned six hectares of wild brush and trees before it was put out by firefighters a couple of hours later, reports said on Thursday.
The fire broke out at 1.25pm in an area between the villages of Droushia and Kritou Terra.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control at around 3pm.
Five vehicles were in the area while two water-dropping helicopters were also scrambled to assist efforts, which were hindered by the rough terrain.
Firefighters will remain in the area as a precaution.
