A 28-year-old man, arrested on Saturday in connection with theft from a 37-year-old female tourist in Paphos, was remanded in custody for two days on Sunday.
The suspect, who had visited the 37-year-old woman in her hotel room on Friday afternoon, allegedly attacked her as soon as she opened the door. The woman reported that he hit her in the face and stole the cash from her purse.
Before leaving he threatened her that, if she reported the incident to the police, he would come after her. The woman had met the 28-year-old a few days earlier.
The tourist sustained bruises and lacerations on her face and right arm.
