The British Council is organising the Study UK Education Exhibition on November 17 to 18 at the Hilton hotel in Nicosia. This is the biggest exhibition for UK universities in Cyprus and brings together representatives from 59 British education institutions this year.
The exhibition seeks to inform students and parents about the courses available to them at all levels of study as well as provide information on financial support and funding schemes available. Visitors to the event can also benefit from attending a series of presentations on popular subjects of study delivered by specialists in each field. Moreover, students will receive information and support on completing their applications from the counsellors of the British Council, find out all they need to know about the different types of examinations required as well as get updates on accommodation options.
Undergraduates, postgraduates and research candidates are invited to attend so they can get individual, personalised advice from education specialists.
Seminars which take place during the two days are presented by various UK universities and include a number of topics which are geared towards preparing the student for their studies, such as ‘Choosing the right university for you’, Solid foundations’, on the advantage of a foundation degree, ‘How to write a personal statement that stands out’ or ‘Preparation for university and beyond’.
Others topics are specific subjects on offer covering such courses of study as music, studying accounting and finance and the advantages of studying biology.
The wide range of subjects means to ensure that not only undergraduates can learn what they need to know about their studies but also graduates and those who are already working and want to pursue further studies.
With terms and fees the same for the next year as they were before last year’s Brexit vote the British Council aims to inform students that studying in the UK remains attractive for Cypriots.
The exhibition is organised with the support of UNITE STUDENTS which offers accommodation all over the UK and IELTS and will be open to the public on both days from 3pm to 8pm. Entrance to the exhibition is free after registration.
Visitors are advised to register online at www.britishcouncil.com.cy/events to minimise waiting time upon arrival to the exhibition and take part in a draw for the chance to win useful prizes.
