Normally what is about to go down at Savino Live in Larnaca on Friday may be seen as a battle of the sexes. But as music is the name of the game, no such battle shall be had, just a rocking night with an all-boy band and an all-girl band showing us what they can do.
The two bands set to entertain are the four-piece alternative rock boy band The Ladderman and the four-piece girl band Belua.
The Ladderman, formed in 2011, are Andreas Matheou on guitar and vocals, Stelios Mosfiliotis on bass, Rolandis Lazidis on guitar and Iacovos Stylianides on drums and vocals.
Now for the girls. Belua – which means beast in Latin – came together in the summer of 2014 and has since created a unique sound that concentrates on the voices of the two singers, bringing in strong elements of blues, psychedelic and folk.
The band released its first studio album entitled As Good a Time As Any in 2015. The album’s sound is, according to the band, “a blend of pop-rock with influences from the blues, psychedelic and folk music, influences which are prevalent in the vast array of different songs.”
