The 41-year-old talk show host is close pals with the ‘Hello’ hitmaker, and has revealed that when he tied the knot with Paul Drayton back in January, the event was planned by Adele and hosted in the garden at her sprawling property.
Alan said: “We’ve known her for ages and when we told her we were getting married she said, ‘Can I please plan the whole day for you?’
“So she organised everything. She’s the kindest, sweetest, most generous person ever.”
On top of being the wedding planner and host for the ‘Chatty Man’ host’s big day, the 29-year-old singer also lent her musical talents to the ceremony, as she performed the song to which Alan and Paul shared their first dance.
Speaking on an episode of UK show ‘The One Show’, Alan added: “We go in there and there’s a grand piano with a man playing Ordinary People and then she sang our songs with the first dance. It was absolutely amazing. I can never repay her. She’s a one off. As we all know, she’s just the best.”
Adele’s foray into wedding planning could come as a second career choice for the star, as she revealed in June last year that she was considering giving up touring.
Speaking whilst on stage at Wembley Stadium in London, she said: “So this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25, we are at the end.
“Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!
“I’ve done 119 shows and these last four will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure.
“I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.
“And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”
