Three cars destroyed by fire near airport

Three cars were destroyed and two others damaged on Friday afternoon by a fire at a parking lot of a company located near Larnaca airport.

A fire service spokesman said they had been notified at 5.30pm of the blaze and immediately dispatched three engines to the scene.

The firefighters put out the fire, which, however, had destroyed three cars and damaged two more.

CID officers examined the scene and determined that a guard was in the location when the fire broke out. The exact causes will be investigated on Saturday by experts from the police, the fire service and the electromechanical service.
