Two boats in Larnaca were badly damaged by a fire which broke out early on Friday.

Around 1am, police were told a fire was raging in a fenced-in boat storage facility in Touzhane street near Mackenzie beach.

Three fire trucks rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.

Two 4-metre-long vessels made of fiberglass were severely damaged while an inflatable boat was also slightly damaged.

Preliminary tests carried out at the scene revealed the fire started inside of one of the boats.

The exact causes will be investigated later in the day.
