100 hay bales destroyed in fire

A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, engulfing a tractor and hay bales in an agricultural area outside of Paphos.

According to Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, the fire broke out at 3.45am in the area of Kokkinogremos near Neo Chorio.

Nicolaou told the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) that the fire completely destroyed a tractor valued at €5,000 and approximately one hundred hay bales, also valued at €5,000.

The scene has been secured and examinations were conducted by police officers and other relevant department officials.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, with authorities not ruling out any possibilities.
