Turkish Cypriot author donates €1,000 to Larnaca charity

Leyla Kiralp

TURKISH Cypriot writer Leyla Kiralp has donated €1,000 to the MANA charity association in Larnaca.

The money was collected from the sale of Kiralp’s book ‘The White Hankerchief that we Shared,’ which has been translated into Greek.

A statement from Kiralp said that the president of the MANA association, Emily Christofidou, expressed her gratitude and said that such acts of charity sent messages of solidarity.

Kiralp is also the author of the book ‘Our Rainbow that Disappeared,’ which has not yet been published.

The MANA association was founded in 1959 and ceased operation around 1985.

The association was started up again after the global economic crisis started to affect many families in Larnaca. The aim of the association now is to provide those in need with help.
