AN early morning fire, suspected of being the work of arsonists, destroyed a betting shop in Nicosia, police said.
Authorities had been alerted at around 5am.
The fire service put out the blaze but not before it destroyed the establishment and caused damage to adjacent shops.
Preliminary examinations indicate that the fire had been set deliberately, police said.
