Search for missing officer called off

After three days, authorities on Friday called off a search for a 33-year-old Paphos army officer missing since Tuesday.
Reports said police have found a note at Captain Michalis Stavrou’s home, which they are currently examining.
The contents of the note were not published.
A sea, air and land search operation had been launched on Tuesday morning after the officer was reported missing by his family.
His abandoned car was found by a tourist on Tuesday morning around 10am, unlocked, keys still in the ignition, near the Ayios Georgios Peyias sea area.
Authorities believe an olive drab army-issue T-shirt found in the area belonged to the missing man.
Stavrou, from Yeroskipou, served in Nicosia.
