Bar Review: Eiffel Café Bar, Limassol

By Anna Hassapi
The test of time has not been kind to many Limassol establishments. In a town where places open, close and change names on a seasonal basis, a few exceptions have managed to remain: Eiffel café bar on Enaerios street is one of them. Following a recent complete interior renovation, Eiffel has established itself as one of the most popular places in Limassol to go for coffee, lunch or drinks.
Eiffel offers both outdoor and indoor seating. The area is busy and central, just off the main seafront road. The interior space now boasts a more modern and chic style featuring a large main bar as well as table seating in black and grey tones. Lively fuchsia and lime cushions brighten up the black corner sofas. The Eiffel Tower figures prominently on the wall, adding to a modern ambience. Flat-screen TVs abound, and major sporting events are often broadcast.
Open for breakfast and lunch, Eiffel’s menu is all encompassing, offering an excellent selection of combo platters, snacks, grills, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta dishes and pizza. There is also a large selection of teas, coffees and alcoholic drinks. Eiffel has managed to maintain a consistently high quality in its food and drink offerings as well as helpful service. An interesting fact about the menu is that it was developed by a Cypriot chef who used to work with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver in the UK.
Functioning as a café during the day, Eiffel transforms into a bar-club in the evening. Greek and international pop music is played by resident DJs. There is a Greek music theme every Friday, while Sundays are karaoke nights.
In contrast to other areas in Limassol, there is usually adequate parking at the Enaerios, which also guarantees peace of mind! Eiffel is highly recommended for a coffee or lunch break when in town, but also for some drinks in the evening.
