Police seize equipment allegedly used for gambling

 Limassol police confiscated 56 computers and three CCTV systems on Thursday night during separate raids on three establishments suspected of operating as online casinos.

A police spokesman said that two raids were carried out between 9pm and 11pm. During the first search, police found 17 computers and a digital recorder (DVR) with three cameras which were part of a CCTV system.

From the second shop, police seized 25 computers and two cameras which were also part of a CCTV system.

Fourteen computers and a DVR with two cameras were taken by officers during their raid on a third shop, police said.

The computers were due to be examined if they were used for online gambling purposes.
