A 47-year-old father of three was killed on Wednesday night while crossing the road in the village of Argaka, Paphos.

Odysseas Kyriacou was hit at 9.30pm by a rental car driven by a tourist.

Kyriacou was rushed to Polis hospital where he later died, authorities said.

He was crossing what has been described as the very dangerous Polis to Pomos road passing through Argaka.

Reports said there have been at least 20 fatal accidents on the same road in the past 15 years.

The road, which has dangerous turns in several sections, has no pavements nor lighting, reports said.
