Drugs and guns arrest

Police in Limassol arrested a 46-year-old man on Wednesday after officers searched his home in Pyrgos and found a large amount of drugs, three hunting rifles and two airguns.

The search was carried out at around 8.30pm and police confiscated 161 grammes of cannabis, 223 pills, a cannabis plant measuring half a metre in height, a metal grinder which had traces of cannabis in it as well as two double-barrelled hunting rifles, a single-barrelled Flobert rifle and two airguns. The 46-year-old did not have a licence for any of the guns, police said. The pills will were sent for testing to establish if they are a known narcotic.

The Limassol drug squad and Moni police station are investigating the incident.
