Temperatures rise

As of Friday, temperatures are expected to hit 40 degrees Celsius inland, bringing the full swing of the summer along with August.

According to meteorological service official Sophia Louca, the high temperatures are anticipated to carry on into Saturday and may create a heat wave, depending on the level of humidity.

On Wednesday, the weather will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will reach 38 degrees inland, around 35 degrees on the east, south and north coast, 33 degrees on the west coast and 31 degrees over higher ground.

On Thursday, temperatures are expected to increase by around one degree in all areas before reaching its peak on Friday.
