A number of cars were damaged in Nicosia and Limassol from an explosion and a fire in the early hours on Wednesday, police said.

At around 3am in Nicosia’s Engomi, a makeshift explosive device completely destroyed a car parked outside the home of its owner, a 25-year-old woman.

Another car which was parked close-by, also belonging to the 25-year-old, was damaged. Police estimate the

Damage is estimated at around €4,000, police said.

In Limassol, a fire damaged a car belonging to a 62-year-old woman that was parked outside her home. The blaze also damaged a car parked behind the 62-year-old’s vehicle. Police had not established the cause for the fire.
