Cyprus airport traffic expected to peak in next two weeks

Passengers at Larnaca Airport

Cyprus’ international airports are expected to facilitate more than 2.5 thousand flights in the coming two weeks, until August 25, carrying around 400 thousand passengers.

Cyprus airports Spokesman Adamos Aspris told CNA that more than 1.8 thousand flights will be conducted via Larnaca international airport, with more than 280 thousand passengers.

The international airport in Pafos is expected, according to Aspris, to facilitate 700 flights with 120 thousand passengers.

He added that, according to passenger data, Greece is again the most favorite destination for Cypriot passengers, with Kavala, Mykonos, Santorini, Thessaloniki and Skiathos ranking in the first positions.

Other European destinations, such as Barcelona and Budapest are also very popular, Aspris noted. (CNA)
