Foreign ministry issues travel advice for Egypt


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Cypriot citizens to avoid non-essential travel to certain areas of Egypt.

If present in the country, Cypriots are advised to exercise caution and avoid public areas, where mass gatherings occur.

The Ministry said in a travel advice that Cypriot citizens are encouraged to keep abreast of local and international media coverage of events (especially the internet) and to follow the instructions of the authorities.

In case of emergency, Cypriot citizens may contact the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Cairo or/and the Duty Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on +357 99 660129 (outside normal working hours).
