Shooting at the home of DISY leader condemned

The Green Party on Thursday condemned a reported attack on the Paphos home of DISY leader Averof Neophytou where two shots were fired at the house.

Citing sources, Politis reported that the attack happened on July 30 at the DISY leader’s house in Argaka, his native village. The report said two shots were fired, one of which went through the living room window and lodged in the wall to the dining room.

It  was not clear if anyone from the family was home at the time.  The incident was reported by the gardener, Politis said. It said secret service KYP had joined the investigation.

The Green Party on Thursday strongly condemned the attack and offered its sympathy to the family.

“We urge all political sides to arenas to keep – beyond their legitimate political differences  -a healthy democratic climate free from violent expressions and acts of vandalism,” the party said.
