Thousands in cash stolen from car in Paralimni

A briefcase containing €80,000 and 7,000 pounds sterling in cash was stolen in the early morning hours from a car belonging to a businessman in Paralimni, police said on Friday.

The businessman, who lives in the Ayios Panteleimonas area, told police his car had been broken into between 2m and 5am.

The thief or thieves gained access by smashing the window.
