Indian man dies in car crash

A 20-year-old Indian man was killed during the early hours on Friday after he crashed the van he was driving near the village of Alaminos, police said.

According to reports at around 4.30am the van crashed into an embankment and flipped on its side, throwing the 20-year-old out of the vehicle and crushing him in the process.

The man who worked at a livestock farm in the area was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, police said.

Kofinou emergency services were called to free the man’s body from the wreckage.

He was taken to Laranca general hospital where doctors confirmed his death.
