Boat fire in Paralimni

A FIRE on a boat in the Paralimni area during the early hours of Tuesday caused extensive damage, police said.

Officers out on patrol in the area noticed a fire on the deck of a boat belonging to a private company which was docked within the Paralimni fishing shelter.

The blaze was put out by police who used the fishing shelter’s emergency fire extinguishing equipment.

The damage has yet to be estimated and it is unclear whether it was a case of arson, police said. Paralimni police are investigating the case.
