Woman found dead in Nicosia, man found dead in Limassol

A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was found dead on Monday in the garage of her  home in Nicosia’s Ayios Dhometios.

She was reportedly found dead in the afternoon, but the circumstances of her death were not immediately clear. Conflicting reports appeared in the press over what happened and police could not clarify details late Monday night.  A post mortem is expected to clarify the circumstances.

Nicosia police chief Kypros Michaelides said police have not ruled out the possibility of foul play.

“All possibilities are being investigated,” he told reporters at the scene.

A man was also found dead on Monday night in Limassol’s Ayios Athanasios area by a member of the public who called police at 9.15pm, Limassol CID said. The man was found at Panayia Street and a state pathologist was due to visit the scene as the Cyprus Mail was going to press. No further details were immediately available.
