Bakery employee threatened with axe during robbery

A thief robbed a bakery in Nicosia in the early hours of Friday, threatening an employee with an axe.

According to police the robber wore a back hood, black jacket, black pants and white gloves.

He entered the bakery at around 2.15am and threatened the staff member with the axe, ordering her to open the till. He spoke in broken Greek, police said.

When she complied, the thief grabbed €250 and fled.
