THE University of Cyprus signed an agreement with the communications ministry yesterday, to share information.

The agreement was signed by the Communications and Works Minister Tasos Mitsopoulos and UCY rector Constantinos Christofides at the university.

The first objective of the agreement is to establish a channel of communication, and the second to directly connect the university with the economy.

“We have already achieved a series of symposia regarding issues such as, intelligent transport systems, the construction of streetcar systems in Nicosia and a collaboration in archeological matters,” Mitsopoulos said.

Christofides said the collaboration of the university with the public sector was the key to emerging from the crisis.
