Bodies found in burnt car (updated)

Police on Saturday found two bodies inside a burnt car, thought to have been involved in a crash on the Lympia to Alambra road, near the industrial estate.

The bodies were found by officers on patrol at 2.15 am.

It is thought that the victims are two Greek Cypriot youths — male and female — aged 19 and 20 but their names have not been officially released pending DNA tests that will confirm their identities beyond any doubt.

It appears that their vehicle veered off course and overturned after hitting a concrete wall, ending up in a ditch.

After the fire service put out the blaze, officers discovered the two charred bodies in the car, police said.
