Truck flips over, driver killed

A 67-year-old man died Wednesday when the truck he was driving along the Limassol to Paphos highway flipped over, police said. Police have not ruled out that Nicos Evripidou died of natural causes while at the wheel.

According to a police spokesman the accident took place at 12.50pm as the truck was entering the highway from the Ayios Silas exit. The truck veered left and crossed the hard shoulder into a field before flipping on its side.

Witnesses told officers that the vehicle had been moving slowly before suddenly accelerating. A post mortem is due to be carried out on Thursday.
