Elderly cyclist dies

A 73-year-old woman, who had suffered serious injuries last month after being hit by a car while cycling in Paphos, died on Monday.

The accident took place at 9.20am on October 20 on the road between Polis Chrysochous and Argaka. An 81-year-old man from Paphos allegedly crashed into the bicycle with his car, police said.

The cyclist was initially taken to Polis Chrysochous hospital, then to Paphos General and finally to Nicosia General Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

The autopsy is due to be carried out on Tuesday.

Paphos traffic police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
