Kiosk owner fights off robber

A 64-year-old kiosk owner was injured on Sunday evening after he fought off an attempted robbery outside his home in Lakatamia, police said.
According to reports, at around 7.45pm the man returned home with a purse containing €7,000 when he was attacked by an unknown man who attempted to take the money.
The 64-year-old managed to fight off his assailant who fled the scene, police said.
In his efforts to defend himself, the kiosk owner was injured in the head and legs and was taken to Nicosia General Hospital where he received first aid and was released.
The attacker is described as being around 1.85m in height, of thin build and at the time in question wearing a hood, dark coloured jacket and trousers.
Nicosia CID is investigating the case.
