Cyber crime officer had his brakes cut

AN officer from the Cyber crime unit has reported to police that he believes his life is in danger due to the nature of his work.

Police press spokesman Andreas Angelides said the officer reported to Limassol CID that he had taken his car to a mechanic who informed him that his brake cables had been severed.

“The mechanic told the officer that the damage was not caused by wear and tear and that someone had purposefully cut them,” he said.

According to Angelides the officer has not named anyone specifically but attributes the incident to the work he does for the cyber crime unit.
