A 32-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in jail on Thursday for the killing of Angelos Phedonos, 46, from Nicosia.

Stelios Mavroloukas had pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The victim’s body was discovered in the lobby of the defunct Beau Rivage hotel, on the coast of Larnaca, on August 1.

A state pathologist said Phedonos had suffered five blows to the head and carried other wounds elsewhere in his body.

Phedonos lived with his mother in Latsia and worked in the warehouse of a pharmaceutical company.
