Tyre repair shop owner arrested for theft

Paphos police arrested a tyre repair shop owner on Thursday in connection with the theft of various tools and other items valued at around €5,000 from the home of a 46-year-old.

Police received reports that on November 6, between 6.45am and 4.30pm a store-room at the 46-year-old man’s house in Peristerona in Paphos had been burgled.

Among the items stolen were a welding machine, two wood cutting machines, a bench, three drills and 35 kilos of copper, valued at around €5,000.

Following a tip-off, officers searched the suspect’s tyre repair shop and found a welding machine and two wood cutting machines which were identified by the 46-year-old as the ones stolen from his store room.
