Woman accused of house wreck

PAPHOS district court remanded a 19-year-old woman on Thursday after she was arrested on suspicion of allegedly causing €5,000 worth of damage at the home of a 39-year-old woman.

The 39-year-old reported to police that between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Wednesday, while she was out of the house, someone had broken in and caused damage to various items including shelves and the television.

The damage done was estimated at €5,000 by the owner, police said.

The 39-year-old told police she suspected a 19-year-old woman had caused the damage as they had reportedly had a falling out.

Following investigations, police arrested the 19-year-old during the early hours on Thursday.

She denied any knowledge or involvement of the incident, police said.
