Police bust illegal gambling servers

Paphos police on Thursday arrested three computer programmers, all foreign nationals, in connection with the discovery of electronic equipment allegedly used to provide illegal gambling services to betting shops around Cyprus.

Police said the three men aged, 24 and 41, from the Ukraine, Russia, and Bulgaria, were arrested during a 5pm raid at a flat in the area of Anavargos.

The suspects said gambling software, such as slot, pirate, and casino games, had been installed on the computers that were being used as servers to provide services to betting shops throughout Cyprus.
