Forensic tests underway on remains found in Ayia Napa

An anthropologist from the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, and a pathologist are examining human remains found in an old grave in Ayia Napa.

The remains were found following information provided to the police, spokesman Andreas Angelides said.

Angelides went on to clarify that the importance of scientifically examining the remains lies in confirming any possible connection to cases of missing persons.

The spokesman said the examination of the remains may provide evidence of assault or injury, and whether or not they were moved to the grave from another location.
