British tourist mugged in Paphos

An 80-year-old British tourist was mugged late on Friday while walking towards the hotel he was staying at in Kato Paphos, police said.

Two people with their faces covered confronted the pensioner at around 10.30pm, beat him and then robbed him. Police said they got away with a watch, a bracelet a neck chain and seven rings.

The victim made it back to his hotel where an ambulance, and police were called. The tourist refused to be taken to hospital and was treated on the spot for injuries to his legs by the ambulance nurse.
