Jewellery and cash stolen

Jewellery and €59,000 in cash was stolen from the home of a 43-year-old Russian woman in Derynia on Tuesday evening, police said.

The 43-year-old, who is a permanent resident of Cyprus, reported to police that between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday her home was burgled and €59,000 in cash and jewellery of unknown value were stolen.

The woman told the police that the stolen items were in a safe in her home but that she had forgotten to lock it before she left her house.

Famagusta CID is investigating the case.
