Kiosk owner uses cologne to fend off robbers

A kiosk owner in the village of Paliometocho in the Nicosia district on Thursday night used spray cologne to fend off two would-be robbers, one of whom was armed.

At around 10.30pm two men entered the kiosks with their faces covered, brandishing a gun. They demanded the owner hand over the till contents.

The owner refused and sprayed the two men in the face with cologne. The would-be robbers left without managing to take any money.
