Tourist arrivals in December were slightly up, 0.1 per cent, compared with December 2012, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation said on Monday.

Director General Marios Hannides said tourism was breathing some life into the economy and was showing the way to restoring growth and combating unemployment.

“We managed, after the negative decision of the Eurogroup in 2013, and the subsequent drop in arrivals, to end the year at approximately at the same level as 2012,” he said.
