Two arsons in Nicosia

A car was burned out

A store room was destroyed and a car damaged following two separate fires late on Tuesday in Nicosia with both cases being investigated as arsons, police said.

At around 7pm police received a call that a store room belonging to a 60-year-old man was on fire on the road between the villages of Marki and Tseri. Initial examinations carried out at the scene indicated that it was arson, police said.

In a separate incident at around 11.30pm a car was set alight while parked outside the owner’s home in Nicosia. The front part of the car was destroyed, said police, adding that there is reason to believe the fire was the result of arson.
